Premium grayling fishing at Camp Luspen
Are you searching for a place to fish big Grayling? Welcome to one of our wilderness camps, Camp Luspen, on a true premium fishing trip.
Luspen is located on the riverbank of the mighty Torne River, far away from roads and electricity. In this rustic camp, you stay in a cosy sleeping cabin with access to a wood-heated sauna. When you are not fishing you can rest your legs on a bed indoors.
At Luspen, there is a great chance of catching Big Graylings with an average weight of 700–800 grams, as well as trophy Graylings weighing up to 2 kilos! Your guide will welcome you at the airport or train station in Kiruna and drive you to Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. On the way, you will have the opportunity to stop at an outfitter, just in case you forgot something at home.
At Icehotel we repack our gear and jump in our waders to enjoy a one hour journey by riverboat and raft to Luspen. After watching plenty of fish eating from the surface during the boat trip, you are now craving to put a fly in the water! We spend the rest of the day fishing, relaxing in the sauna and enjoying a delicious dinner in the evening.
During your stay at Luspen, your guide will make sure that no one goes hungry. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks will be prepared for you to enjoy. Meals are based on local produce and perhaps also your catch of the day?
The package includes 5 days of instant fishing. On the final day, you also have the chance to experience Icehotel 365, the world’s first and largest hotel built out of snow and ice that also houses an impressive ice art hall, in a structure that is cold year-around thanks to solar power.
Day 1 Arrival
Your guide will welcome you at the airport/train station and drive you to Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. (you will have the opportunity to stop by an outfitter in case you forgot something at home)
At Icehotel we repack our gear, leave the travel clothes behind and jump into our waders. Next up is leaving the civilization on a boat trip along the Torne River, heading towards our destination, Camp Luspen.
After about an hour by riverboat and raft, you arrive at Camp Luspen. Right about now, your urge to put a fly in the water is probably peaking after having seen multiple fish eating from the surface during the boat ride. The rest of the day is spent fishing. Come nighttime, we have dinner and relax in the sauna.
Days 2 and 3 Camp Luspen
The second day is spent fishing the Camp Luspen stretch. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served at your convenience. The guide will be at your service all day.
Day 4 Drifting and Camp Puonojokki
We start the third day with breakfast before we go out to pack our raft. When ready, we start drifting along the river on our raft. We make stops along the way to fish at “hot spots” for both grayling and trout.
We arrive at Camp Puonojokki around lunchtime and restore our energy before it is time for the guide to make you acquainted with this particular fishing stretch. The rest of the day is spent fishing, and the camp guide will make sure that no one goes hungry and that the sauna stays warm.
Day 5 Drifting and departure
After breakfast and packing, we will drift the last stretch to our pick up point. You will get a chance to wet your line one last time before pickup and transfer back to Icehotel.
At Icehotel you can have a shower and change into regular clothes before your transfer to the airport/train station. If there is time, you can take the opportunity to experience Icehotel 365, a world unique hotel and art gallery made of ice and snow, built in a structure that is cold all year around.
