Nikkaluokta – Kebnekaise

Nikkaluokta is located only 66 km from Kiruna, you can easily go there by either car or bus. It is 19 km from Nikkaluokta to Kebnekaise mountain station. You can after 5,6 km take a 30 minute long boat trip over the lake Laddjujavri, and then it remains 8 km before reaching the mountain station.

There is accommodation in both Nikkaluokta tourist station  (Nikkaluokta Sarri AB) and at Kebnekaise mountain station. In Nikkaluokta you can stay in cabins or camp in a tent. At Kebnekaise mountain station you can stay in 2-6 bedrooms with or without your own self catering. There are also possibilities to tent near the station. Nikkaluokta offers lots of activities, for example helicopter tours, boat trips, samish guided tours or Icelandic horse riding.

There are regular helicopter tours going from Nikkaluokta to Kebnekaise mountain station between June and September. Kebnekaise mountain station offers guided day tours and hiking courses. To walk along the king’s trail from Nikkaluokta to Abisko, we recommend the maps BD6 and BD8. If you want to walk in the area of Kebnekaise we recommend the map “Kebnekaise högfjällskarta”.
