Cave adventure in winter time

Not only the vast landscapes in the mountains are fascinating for the visitors to Björkliden; in the dark and narrow caves the sensation can be just as great.

The Kåppasjåkka cave is one of Sweden’s longest cave system. Crawling into the primitive rock in winter and discovering cave halls adorned with stalagmites and stalactites is an exciting adventure. Provided the snow cover is sufficient we go by snowmobile and sled all the way to the cave. If not we walk part of the way up there. After a thrilling journey we put on our headlights and the adventure begins.
