NATURE, CULTURE AND PHOTO GUIDING
Say Swedish Lapland and images of a pristine mountain landscape, arctic wildlife, the living Sami culture and Aurora borealis soon come to mind. This tour brings it all to life! Your guide will be professional photographer Peter Rosén. His background is as a biologist and associate professor in environmental science but he has worked since 2012 as a full time photographer. Peter offers you an in-depth photo course on how to capture the aurora, stars, galaxies, Sámi culture, wildlife and the spellbinding midwinter landscape in the best possible way. Peter will also bring you the full story behind your beautiful images! The history of the breath-taking nature and exciting culture of Lapland is an essential part of every tour. Your guide will tell you about the Sami culture that is an integral part of this region, the fascinating science behind the northern lights, the unique ecosystem you are in and how it has been shaped by natural forces over the millennia. The animals and vegetation are specialized to survive this climate, from the lichens clinging to rocks up to the majestic moose. Every photo you shoot captures some aspect of Lapland culture, science and history.

WE HAVE THE PHOTO EQUIPMENT FOR YOU
We are sponsored by Canon and Manfrotto and can offer amateur and professional SLR cameras, lenses (14-500mm) and tripods – at no additional cost.

WE CAN HELP YOU TO EXTEND YOUR TOUR
If you want to add one or two extra nights in Abisko or at Camp Ripan in Kiruna including full board, activities and all transfers we can help. Choose between snowmobile tour, dog sledding, the ICEHOTEL, get to know the Sami culture or something else. Just tell us and we will try to help you!

We go to a nice photo spot for northern lights and astro photography. We have access to a snowmobile and AWD minibus throughout the tour and choose the place that feels most suitable for the evening. For example, into the Abisko Valley and to our favorite spot located with a view of the mountains, fine pine trees and a traditional Sami lavvu (Tentipi® Nordic tipi). We go through the skills and settings for northern lights, night and astrophotography and help arrange nice pictures for you. If the northern lights dance for us then we are out late and will return to the hotel around midnight.
