Get away and experience a small village retreat nestled in among the forests and lakes of the Torne River Valley. While here take part in your choice of activity – cross-country ski or snowshoe tours, husky sledding with your own dog team, experiencing the Sámi culture, Northern Lights tour, or, just recharge and relax with yoga, massage or sauna.

Accommodation is in an inviting retreat guesthouse, in a small village, off the beaten tourist track. With a wide range of activities and flexible approach in designing your programme, your needs and interests will be well catered for.

Day One
7.10 Depart Kiruna with the public bus. Sit, relax and enjoy the view as you journey into the Torne River Valley – You might even sight moose or reindeers!
9.00 Arrive Aurora Retreat, Junosuando. The bus stops across the road from Aurora Retreat, we will greet you at the bus. Enjoy a light breakfast, get settled in our beautiful, comfortable guesthouse and afterwards spend the day doing your choice of guided activity or explore our small village and the surroundings on your own.

Day Two
Time to spend on your own or with more guided activities
14.35 hop on the bus and arrive back in Kiruna by 16.35

Price full-board accommodation: 920 SEK/person (double room). Includes delicious, satisfying meals from breakfast day 1 to lunch day 2, loan of warm outdoor clothing and boots, kick-sleds and toboggans.
Additional nights accommodation with meals, 795 SEK/person
Single supplement, 200 SEK/person/night
Bus fare: 296 SEK/person, return trip Kiruna-Aurora Retreat (Junosuando)-Kiruna.
Bus fare should be paid to the driver in cash (Swedish kronor)
Notes regarding bus timings: On Sundays the bus departs Kiruna at 14.35, arriving Aurora Retreat at 16.10. On weekdays there is an afternoon bus from Kiruna to Aurora Retreat, departing Kiruna at 14.00, and a morning bus from Aurora Retreat to Kiruna departing 7.25. If you need to arrive late or depart early that is no problem; we will subtract the cost of the missed meals.

Accommodation
The retreat guesthouse is located in the small village, Junosuando, surrounded by expansive forests, pristine lakes and mighty, untouched rivers. The guesthouse is a timber building dating from the 1920’s which has been renovated with environmentally sustainable living in mind. There are six simple, yet pleasant and comfortable, double rooms with private or shared bathrooms. There is a dining hall, a spacious group gathering room with a fireplace, and quiet corners for reflection and relaxation.
Cuisine
Meals and snacks are freshly prepared with the highest quality, organic and local ingredients available. Root vegetables, grains and pulses form the basis of most meals. Occasionally, we offer local wild meat or fish. We happily accommodate those with special diets with creatively prepared, fresh food.
