Nutti Sámi Siida in Jukkasjärvi has won the Indigenous Tourism and Biodiversity Website Award 2010! The competition included 14 nominees from 10 different countries globally ( Australia, Bolivia, Canada, Kirgizistan, Laos, Mexico, Micronesia, New Zeeland, Pakistan and Sweden).
The award is presented to indigenous tourism operators for websites that promote sustainable practices and educates visitors about cultural protocols and biodiversity conservation. The award is given by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity in collaboration with the leading sustainable travel web portal Planeta.com, and with the generous support of the Heidehof Foundation.
