A nice day trip is to walk through the valley Kärkevagge to Trollsjön (Rissajaure). The Sami name means "lake that gleams like fire". The lake consists of meltwater from surrounding glaciers.
The valley is filled with many, and some very large boulders that are scattered throughout the valley and it is this that distinguishes Kärkevagge from other valleys. The large boulders are a result of glacial advance. Trollsjön is located deep inside the 6 km long valley behind a massive wall of boulders. This is Sweden's clearest lake with a visibility of about 35 meters.the plateau is very beautiful with its lush green meadows, grassy heaths and boulder accumulations.Book your guided tour to Trollsjön via:Abisko TuriststationPhone: +46 (0)980-402 00www.svenskaturistforeningen.se/abiskoBjörkliden FjällbyPhone: +46 (0)980-641 00www.bjorkliden.com
