In Abisko, 93 km from Kiruna, you’ll find the village Abisko Östra and then Abisko Mountain Station two kilometres later. Abisko is a very popular place in both summer and winter. Many know about Abisko as the northern starting point for Kungsleden, and of course as the centre for the Abisko National Park. Lapporten, the Lappish gate, is situated a few kilometres from the Mountain Station and in perfect photo reach from the road!
If you come to Abisko by train there are two stops, Abisko Östra and Abisko Turist. In Abisko Östra you will find the youth hostel Abisko Fjällturer, Abisko Mountain Lodge, a supermarket and a gas station. Around Abisko Tourist Station you will find the starting point for Kungsleden and Naturum. During summer you can take the chair-lift up to Panorama Café and during winter to Aurora Sky Station.
