A Sami Northern Lights tour
A visit to the reindeer corral in a Sami village and an outing into the dark in pursuit of the mysterious aurora borealis. This tour includes a short ride by car and feeding reindeer in a small Sami village 20 km northwest of Kiruna, close to the mountain range. After the encounter with the reindeer and throwing the lasso we will make an outing on a snowmobile sled. We will go through the wintry forest in the countryside to the frozen river where there are usually great opportunities to see the aurora borealis. At the end of the tour we will sit down on soft reindeer hides around the warming fire in a Sami tepee (lavvu). During this tour you will hear stories about the northern lights and the Sami mythology. This tour fits both grown-ups and children.
