Abisko
93 km west of Kiruna. This marks the start of Kungsleden " The Kings Trail", a 440 km long hiking trail running through Sweden. The old navvy's material transportation road "Rallarleden", which leads down to Rombakksbottn in Norway, is nowadays a population mountain bike and hiking trail. In the summer, you can go on short or long hikes, flora and fauna tours etc.
During the winter, there are maintained trails for skiers etc. You can pay a visit to Naturum, and its exhibition of the natural history of Abisko National Park. One of the natural phenomena is the canyon, where the stream Abiskojokk has dug into the rock, forming walls over 20 metres high. The cliff faces show a cross-section of the local geology. It is possible to go by cable cart to the top of Nuolja, for hiking during summer and offpist skiing during winter.
