Kärkevagge

0

Kärkevagge (9am – 5pm) 800,- SEK
Vagge is Sami for valley, Kärke means rocky terrain. So it translates into “the Rocky valley”. Doesn't sound like a nice place to hike, but I promise you that this trekking tour is something special.
We start going by car to the entrance of the valley were we find that path directly beside the road. All the way into the valley we find the mysterious lake “Trollsjön”, were you on a clear and calm day can see all the way to the bottom…38 metres down!
The hike back leads us straight through the remains of the last great ice, which we had here 8000 years ago. The boulders are huge!
Back in Abisko, it will be a great relief to take off our hiking boots and await the evening sauna.
